Out with the BIG and in with the Miniscule

The future of automotive technologies has again shifted from the powerful engines of tomorrow to the small yet efficient cars of today. The recent oil crisis had automotive manufacturers scrambling for the smallest and most efficient engines they can find, focusing their energy on coming out with smaller and more efficient cars for the drivers of tomorrow. There was a time when oil was so plentiful that everybody wanted the biggest and baddest engines they could find, even making them more powerful with mods that took them to dizzying speeds. Oil has always been known to be a non-renewable resource and with dwindling supplies comes the question what will we be using to power our cars when it does run out.
From hydrogen gas, methanol, ethanol, bio diesel and even plain old air, everybody is out for the next revolution in engine technology. New generation batteries that are more efficient are already on the roads replacing the dirty and polluting lead-acid batteries we are all using. The future is coming and we are running out of time, just hope the innovations come in time to save the earth for it’s the only one we have.
