The 2008 Chrysler Aspen is a spacious, sport utility vehicle that can carry substantial loads. It’s within the same league as the GMC Yukon, the Chevy Tahoe, and the Ford Exhibition, but contains more luxury features than those cars. The Chrysler Aspen has similar mechanicals and size with the Dodge Durango, but the Aspen’s interior and styling is far superior. It uses truck chassis, giving it the advantage of a roomy interior and the ability to tow up to 8,000 pounds. It’s a nice-enough looking SUV with a more subdued version of the Chrysler’s traditional egg crate body lines. The wheels can be fitted with 20-inch chrome rims.

GMC released a new concept car called the Denali XT. The car’s exterior features a “boxed” look (very masculine), and it also uses the same platform some GM cars have such as Vauxhall, Pontiac and Buick (there are reports that some Chevy cars will use the same platform in 2010 for some of their cars). What’s unique in this car is that, it has been marked as environmental friendly since it can run both on electricity and bioethanol. It has a V8 engine and it can accommodate as much as 5 people inside despite the bulky appearance (normally, sedan-type cars aren’t spacious).

The 2009 Pontiac Vibe shares similarities with the Toyota Matrix, although its exterior is unique to the Pontiac brand. Consumers can choose from either a 1.8L four cylinder or a 2.4L four cylinder although the latter will be a standard engine for all-wheel drive models and GT models. For the 1.8L engine, fuel economy can range between 25-26 city and 31-31 highway, depending on the transmission. All Pontiac Vibe models will have a Mac-Pherson-strut front suspension design, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, and electronic traction control and stability control. The interior has also been revamped and has a driver-focused design.

The 10^th-generation Toyota Corolla doesn’t look radically different from the previous models but it has significant improvements in terms of fuel economy, safety, passenger space, and luggage space. The 2009 Corolla comes in five different models: Standard, Le, XLE, S, and XRS. The S and XRS are sportier versions that get a front underbody spoiler, rocker moldings, fog lamps, and upper and lower rear spoilers. All Corolla models get front and side air bags and anti-lock breaks. For the lower models, stability and traction control is an optional feature.

The all-new 2009 Dodge Journey is a safe, versatile, child-friendly vehicle with loads of storage, flexible seating, and all-weather driving capability. It comes in a new sporty design, is available in 5+2 seating, and has additional cargo space. Its front passenger cushion can be flipped to reveal a bin large enough to store a purse, headphones, or an umbrella. In terms of safety features it has multi-stage front air bags and a tire pressure monitor. The 2009 Dodge Journey is also the first mid-size crossover car to offer integrated child booster seats.

A new British car emerges: the new MMI Avocet. This new creation by MMI Industries left the audience at the 2008 Autosport International Show in awe of its excellent engine and neat look. The design of the car is a hybrid of new age concept and vintage motif. Although the car maker MMI Industries is not known to all, those who wish to purchase this car need not be worried about its specifics. All the motor works found inside the car are made by Ford and are available at the car shop nearest you. MMI Industries only plans to make about 50 cars in its first year, so if you like what you see, better grab one now before it’s too late.
